Latitude Takes Flight

As the sun starts shining in Nelson we are enjoying riding our bikes, jumping in the kayak, and being able to set up our office outside. With the warmth of the sun also comes more good news – The Latitude Project just teamed up with Aeroplan Beyond Miles, allowing people to donate their unused Miles to Latitude. As you probably know, we are committed to having zero overhead costs. All of us here in The Latitude Family are volunteers: this means all the hours we spend working in Canada and abroad are done (with a smile) for free!  You may wonder how we support ourselves… We work other full time jobs and dedicate our free time, energy, and finances to Latitude. In the past, flights have been paid for out of our pockets. With that said, Latitude is gaining momentum and taking on more projects every year. Our small and committed staff continue to cover the costs of our own accommodation, food, and all other expenses.

While most organizations include the cost of travel in their administrative fees, Latitude is determined not to follow suit.  We value every penny that our generous partners contribute to our initiatives and are committed to transparently disburse these donations where they are needed most. This partnership with Aeroplan will enable The Latitude Project to continue operating with no excess overhead costs- allowing more projects to be completed in areas of Latin America. Aeroplan Miles can be donated here

It’s so nice to feel things coming together – as more people and businesses get on board it really just renews our excitement about what we are doing and the possibilities to come! Time to close the computers for the day and enjoy what is left of it!

Paz y un abrazo,
a + j.
