Women's Healthcare Clinics
Objective:
With support from a collaboration by Wolf Circus + For All Womankind, we are enhancing the spectrum of care that we are able to specifically offer women in remote areas of Nicaragua without access to medical care.
After spending considerable time in each of the beneficiary villages, community members have identified their current top priority to be access to medical solutions and prevention plans.
THE MODEL:
Building on a successful model that employs a local Nicaraguan (woman) manager, local nurse and doctor, our medical team will be servicing some of the most hard-to-access and marginalized villages in rural Nicaragua. The program will be multi-stage, offering immediate healthcare solutions, sexual education, and reproductive care followed by sustainable solutions such as access to clean water and improvement of sanitation facilities.
Because of the funding made available by Wolf Circus + For All Womankind, we are able to provide first time care for thousands of women who would otherwise not have access to healthcare. Women encounter even greater healthcare adversity than men in a country already plagued with the struggle of living in extreme poverty and marginalization.
NICARAGUA:
Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in the America's, lacking resources to deliver basic preventive health care to nearly 90% of its population.
