OBJECTIVE:

To partner with the community of Sotacaballo, Nicaragua to educate, build, and install bio sand filtration systems in 32 households, resulting in 115 people with access to clean water.

BENEFICIARY COMMUNITIES:

The rural village of Sotacaballo is located in the San Juan region of Nicaragua near the border to Costa Rica. We spent a week working together with the community members, who sifted all of the sand for their filters and learned how to build and install a basic (yet highly effective) water purification system in their homes.
